SUMMARY:No Kings Protest
DESCRIPTION:In June\, we mobilized millions of people to take to the streets and declare with one voice: America has no kings. Trump’s birthday parade was drowned out by protests in all 50 states and throughout the world. His attempt to turn June 14 into a coronation backfired\, and the story of the day was about the strength of a movement rising against his authoritarian power grabs. \nThe millions of people who turned out in June helped create one of the largest single days of protest in US history\, and their courage and commitment set an example for others to follow. Since then\, we’ve seen more and more political leaders and institutions choosing to resist the regime rather than play dead. \nBut we knew June 14 was just the start. Trump is doubling down on his authoritarian tactics. He is disappearing immigrants to sprawling concentration camps\, sending troops into our cities\, threatening to interfere in elections\, rigging maps to steal power from the voters\, and orchestrating a massive giveaway to his billionaire allies as families struggle. \nTrump is ramping up his attacks on our rights and democracy\, but we’re not backing down. On October 18\, we’re taking to the streets in more cities and in larger numbers to remind Trump\, his cronies\, and those on the sidelines looking for hope: America has no kings.  \nSome other locations where protests are taking place: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFind a #NoKings Rally Near You \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLisle | 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM | 3200 Ogden Avenue \nLombard\, Glen Ellyn\, Wheaton\, & Villa Park | 1:00 – 2:30 PM | Sign up for a location along the Roosevelt Road Resistance \nNaperville | 12:00 – 2:00 PM | Naperville Municipal Center \nAurora | 12:00 – 2:00 PM | McCarty Park \nElmhurst | 2:30 – 4:30 PM | Elmhurst City Hall \nBartlett | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Stearns Rd & Bartlett Rd \nBolingbrook | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Janes Ave and Boughton Rd \nChicago | 12:00 – 2:00 PM | Butler Field at Grant Park \nArlington Heights | 3:00 – 5:00 PM | Recreation Park Soccer Field \nElgin | 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Kimball St and Grove Ave \nGeneva | 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM | Gleneagle Dr & Randall Rd \nJoliet | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Mall Loop Dr and Rt 30\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Will County Take Back the Night 2025
DESCRIPTION:Take Back the Night first appeared in Europe in 1976 in response to a series of sexual assaults and murders against women. This event offers an opportunity for survivors of abuse to join with others of all races\, cultures\, background and experience to combine the strength of their voices to declare an end to violence. \nSince 1996\, Will County Take Back the Night has hosted an annual rally to raise awareness for sexual violence and to support survivors in their healing process. Take Back the Night is critical to Will County’s overall commitment to raising awareness about violence against women and the tragedies it creates. Each year\, the event includes a featured speaker\, entertainment\, a brief march\, and an information table with materials from organizations involved in helping victims of violence. \nWill County Take Back the Night also raises funds for local agencies which assist women and their families. Your donations help us provide financial assistance to nonprofit agencies that work directly with women and children whose lives were affected by violence.
